The hatch covers for each cargo hold could be made of 2, 4 or 6 panels, which can be folded to fore&after sides by the mode of 2+2 or 2+4. Hatch cover uses flat-topped mode and mixed-frame structure, and its uniformly distributed load meets the requirements of international conventions. Watertight rubber uses sponge-core tape, hatch cover has two drainage systems to improve the watertight performance. Around the hatch cover has open-type fast cleats. Open&close hatch cover by hydraulic power which works smoothly, reliably and without noise. The time for opening the hatch cover is about 5 minutes.
Steel material of panel: ship quality mild steel (A) and high tensile strength (H36)
Axles and bolts shall be of type stainless steel. Bronze bushing and greasing through readily accessible grease nipples to be arranged where necessary.
Ramps/rails for wheels of mild steel or high tensile steel.
While two pumps running, theoretical time for opening/closing per pair excluding cleating and locking at ambient temperature of +20°C is approx. 3.0/2.5 minute, theoretical time for opening/closing two pairs for one hatch at the same time excluding cleating and locking is approx. 6.0/5.0 minute.
